Photographers keep saying ‘AI’ when they mean machine learning, and it’s causing real confusion about what our editing tools are actually doing to our photos. After a comment on my DxO PureRAW 6 review claimed that ML noise reduction throws your photo away and replaces it with AI-generated guesswork, I decided it was time to set the record straight.

In this video I break down the difference between machine learning and generative AI, explain why it matters for your photography, and confess to being part of the problem myself.
