Google just dropped their 2025 Research Breakthroughs, and why I’m considering switching from ChatGPT entirely to a Gemini Pro subscription.
I’m breaking down the three announcements that have me the most hyped:
1. Gemini 3’s Massive Leap: This isn’t a small efficiency tweak. We’re talking fundamental improvements in reasoning and multimodal understanding, along with handling massive context windows. Gemini-3-flash just made the jump to Rank 1 on the LMArena Leaderboard. Plus, the Gemini Pro subscription includes things like Nano Banana for image generation and 2TB of Cloud Storage.
2. Antigravity: The Al-First IDE: This is Google’s new IDE, completely rethought to manage autonomous Al agents. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m planning to cancel my Cursor subscription to test it out
3. Empowering Creativity (VEO 3): The focus is shifting beyond basic text-to-image. Tools like VEO 3 are making complex, high-fidelity video generation accessible. This levels the playing field for creators who don’t have the time or skill to learn animation. The future is all about control and steerability in creative Al.
What breakthrough are you most excited for in 2026?
