Learning to think in design tokens is key if you’re trying to be a design system designer. This starts with creating and adhering to a systematic naming convention and reference structure.
Not only does semantic tokens and aliases help developers make future changes easier, it also helps us as designers! See when you’re looking for a specific color and you have all your tokens labeled as shades or obscure words, it’s tough to remember which colors to use when. That’s why making your UI design with semantic tokens is key. You can easily add more tokens and swap them around as things change down the line!
