As of version 2023.5 Home Assistant uses Open AI as a Voice Assistant! You can now ask questions to Open AI using Home Assistant. Home Assistant implemented speech-to-text using Whisper and text-to-speech using Piper in this new release. It’s also possible to talk to the Home Assistant Voice Assistant to control your devices locally now!
