Whew!
I want to share the reason why I created this course. I saw a huge need for graphic designers to not only find jobs but to also be able to charge more and offer more services. I wanted to create a course that gently guides you through everything that is involved in a brand design or branding project.
I wanted to create a course that can make you feel confident in not only offering full-service brand packages but to also have an awesome portfolio case study to help you land those clients in the end.
This course focuses on the process and the end result, but it takes it one step further in explaining HOW to put together a strong client presentation, Behance portfolio case study and also a Brand Standards Manual for next level brand design. I keep going when most other courses stop.
I also wanted to create a course that helped to answer so many of my fantastic student’s questions that I have received regularly over the years. Some of them are about how to brainstorm and how to be creative. Others were about how to overcome creator’s block and get started with creating concepts that had meaning, were authentic and based on facts, research and data. Also, I would get questions about how to write ad copy.
I had a lot of students ask me how to create a portfolio case study and how to present your work to clients. Students also asked about what questions to ask to a client before getting started. They wanted to know how do I get them involved in the process?
I would also get questions about how to take a logo and go further with it and how to even start to think about working through that process.
I would get a lot of messages from students who lacked the confidence to offer design services. I wanted to create a course to give those students the knowledge to help them feel super confident moving forward and to charge more for their hard work.
I hope you guys enjoy this course! It is great for anyone who has taken any of my software-based classes before as very basic knowledge of design software is assumed. Taking my prior courses is NOT required, just a very basic working knowledge of a photo editing program and a vector editing program will be helpful (Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo, Adobe illustrator or Affinity Designer) the course uses Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for the project based sections.
If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them. I am relieved this course is finally here and may take a little bit of a course creation break after this one. Once you see all that is covered you will see why I might need a break. I’ll see you in the course!
