Google Lands $1.2B Cloud Contract From ServiceNow

Francis deSouza, the chief operating officer of Google Cloud, says that strong second quarter earnings results come as companies adopt AI more widely and see the benefits it can bring to their business.

 Alphabet Inc.’s Google inked a deal worth more than $1 billion to provide cloud-computing services to software firm ServiceNow Inc., a win for Google Cloud’s efforts to get major enterprises onto its platform.
ServiceNow committed to spending $1.2 billion over five years, according to a person familiar with the agreement who asked not to be identified discussing internal information. ServiceNow said it has deals with multiple cloud platforms to provide services and declined to disclose the value of individual contracts. Google declined to comment.
In the past, many big enterprise customers have used cloud industry leaders Amazon.com Inc.’s Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Corp.’s Azure. In February, Salesforce Inc. agreed to spend $2.5 billion on Google Cloud services, a move away from its traditional cloud vendor of AWS. Google also added OpenAI as a customer this year.
