Hop, skip, jump… It’s time to get the kids active! How physically active is your child?

Being physically active is important as it aids the growth and development of babies, toddlers and preschoolers and older children.

The chief medical officer guidelines recommend that children under 1 get at least 30 minutes of activity across the day while children from 1 – 5 years old should aim for at least 3 hours a day. This can be anything from tummy time to playground activities but the goal is for children not to be inactive for long periods. Kids between 5 – 18 years old should engage in moderate intensity physical activity for at least 60 minutes everyday.
