🎹 A Musician’s Real-World Tour of Today’s Top AI Music Tools
Suno • Tunee • Producer AI • Sonauto • Eleven Labs • Mureka
Hello, my fellow creatives!
Today, I’m taking you on a whirlwind tour through the AI music tools I personally use, test, and stress-test in real time. No fluff — just the real experience of a musician exploring each tool’s strengths and quirks.
Let’s jump straight in.

🎵 1. SUNO — The King of Musical Intelligence
We start with the heavyweight: Suno.
Inside Suno Studio, hit Create, type something simple like “R&B song about the spice of life”, select Trap or any style, and generate.
This is the laziest way to use Suno — “as-the-wind-blows” creation.
Good output… very little effort.
But musicians know:
If it didn’t come from you, it doesn’t feel like yours.
Also remember:
🔹 Free Suno accounts cannot use generated music commercially
🔹 Paid Suno accounts can
Suno is still the most musically intelligent tool out there — chord-aware, vibe-aware, and deeply musical.
➡️ Score: 90/100

🎼 2. TUNEE — Clean, Smooth, and Great to Play Over
Next up is Tunee.
I prompted the same “R&B song about the spice of life,” and Tunee immediately let me choose a direction — Smooth Jazz or Modern Neo-Soul.
You know me — I clicked Neo-Soul.
Tunee delivered clean, smooth grooves with zero artifacts. The bass lines and textures feel great for improvisation.
It’s not as intellectually musical as Suno, but it’s cleaner than most tools and a joy to jam on.
➡️ Score: 80/100

🎤 3. PRODUCER AI — Conversational & Versatile
Producer AI lets you talk to it like a collaborator:
“Can you hear me?”
“Are you ready?”
“Do you want my lyrics?”
And it answers back like a studio partner:
“Drop the lyrics and I’ll shape the vibe.”
I pasted the lyrics, and Producer AI cooked something quickly.
Not my preferred arrangement, but you can feel some awareness of key, movement, and structure.
➡️ Score: 65/100

🎷 4. SONAUTO — The Jazz Surprise Tool
Now this one caught me off guard: Sonauto.
Using a lazy jazz prompt like “Jazz song about cars and bikes”, Sonauto generated clean, surprisingly musical ideas. But where it shines is when you use a sophisticated prompt.
So I went to my site philc.net, used my Prompt Super Sizer, chose Jazz → Avant-Garde → Fast → Punchy → Synth-Lead…
Pasted the prompt into Sonauto…
🔥 And it delivered.
Sonauto is an excellent idea generator, especially for jazz musicians.
Not as advanced as Suno, but very strong for a free tool.
➡️ Score: 60/100

🧠 5. ELEVEN LABS — Music Engine With New Teeth
Eleven Labs already dominates voice, but now they’ve added music generation.
I tested Jazz/Trap — and the mix was punchy, energetic, and far better than their early attempts. Then I tested Middle Eastern / North African world music — again, surprisingly dynamic.
Eleven Labs is evolving fast.
➡️ Score: Still evaluating, but highly promising

🌍 6. MUREKA — First Impressions
This was my very first time using Mureka.
There’s a lot of negativity about it on Reddit, but my first quick test didn’t sound bad at all. Clean, simple, coherent. I need more time with it, but nothing offensive in the first run.
If you’ve used Mureka, let me know what you think.
➡️ Score: Too early to rate
